Lyn has been married to her husband David for 38 years and is a devoted grandmother to eight. She spends what spare time she has trying to contain her flourishingly wild garden. She enjoys camping with friends and family, and entertaining at home.
In 1997, Lyn began fostering and in 2008 opened a supported accommodation at her family home. This evolved into 123 Supported Accommodation, now operating two group living homes for up to 10 young people, as well as solo flats for those moving on post-18.
Lyn is passionate about equipping care leavers with necessary practical life skills and created the Moving On booklet soon after starting 123. Over the past 12 years, it has grown from in-house use to nationwide distribution.
An early NASAP member, Lyn has long advocated for an organisation to represent the Supported Accommodation community. She has been actively involved in NASAP’s development, contributing to peer sessions and promoting best practices. Lyn hopes to continue supporting NASAP’s growth as a board member, furthering its representation of the sector.
